Kovmere vs Ahrefs Brand Radar for AI Source-Page Analysis
Ahrefs Brand Radar and Kovmere, our own product, analyse cited pages at different scales. Brand Radar is a market research database: hundreds of millions of search-backed prompts on Google's AI features, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Grok, with Cited Domains and Cited Pages reports for any brand, from $199 a month per platform. Kovmere analyses the pages cited for your market's buyer questions: up to 18 buyer questions and 2 brand checks, three runs on each of five engines, the most-cited pages fetched and labelled, and source opportunities among its fixes. Use Brand Radar to map a market's sources; use Kovmere to see which pages decide your specific questions.
What is AI source-page analysis for?
Most of the pages AI answers cite are not the brands' own sites. Review platforms, comparison articles, directories, forums and videos carry a large share of the citations, so knowing which pages an answer relies on tells you where to work: improve your own page, get onto a list, correct a profile or pitch a publication. Source-page analysis answers three questions:
- Which domains and pages are cited for the questions that matter to us?
- Do those pages mention us, mention our competitors, or neither?
- Which of them are realistic to change, join or approach?
How do Brand Radar and Kovmere work?
Brand Radar starts from a prompt index modelled on real search keywords, with data going back to 2025. You search by brand, topic or domain and get mentions, cited domains and cited pages across the platforms in its index, for your brand and any competitor. Custom prompts can be added and tracked from monthly to daily; Claude is available only through custom prompts. Platform indexes cost $199 a month each or $699 for all, with 2,500 custom checks included; custom prompts alone start at $50 a month.
Kovmere starts from your buyer questions. It asks up to 20 for one market, up to 18 that do not name you and up to 2 brand comparisons reported separately, three times on each of OpenAI, Perplexity, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude and Google AI Overviews, with US settings. Every cited URL is counted; the top 60 are fetched and labelled by page type and by whether they mention you, and your own pages are always kept in the list. The findings feed fixes, which can include source opportunities: specific pages worth approaching. A Check is $19 once; Pro, which repeats the measurement through each billing period, is $49 a month.

Where is Brand Radar stronger?
Breadth. No small question set can match a database of this size for seeing which sites a whole category's answers lean on. If you want to know which review platforms and publishers dominate AI citations in your industry, Brand Radar can show it in minutes.
Competitor research. You can look up any competitor's cited pages and mentions without setting anything up, and find gaps where competitors are cited and you are not.
History and platforms. Data back to 2025 and coverage of Copilot and AI Mode, which Kovmere does not sample (Grok is in the index, but new Grok data collection is paused).
Fit with SEO data. For teams already using Ahrefs, cited pages sit next to backlinks and keyword data, which helps when deciding which publications to approach.
Where is Kovmere stronger?
Questions written for your market. A market index tells you what is cited across many prompts; Kovmere tells you what is cited for up to 18 buyer questions and 2 brand checks it writes for your market, which may be narrower or newer than the index covers; on Pro you can change up to five of them per round after the first baseline, effective from the next baseline.
Pages read, not just counted. Fetching the top cited pages and noting whether each one mentions you separates the opportunities from the dead ends: a cited "best tools" list that leaves you out is a different job from one that already includes you.
Answers with their sources. You can read what the engines said about you and your competitors, which pages they cited, and whether you were recommended.
A route to action. Source findings turn into fixes, from a page draft to a specific site worth approaching, each tied to the question it came from.
How can you use them together?
- Map the market in Brand Radar: which domains and page types dominate citations in your category and for your main competitors.
- Test your market's buyer questions in Kovmere: which of those sources actually appear for the questions in your basket, and whether they mention you.
- Prioritise the pages that appear in both: heavily cited across the market and cited for your own questions, but not yet mentioning you.
- Re-test the same questions after outreach or page changes (in Kovmere this needs Pro, which re-measures the same frozen questions each billing period), so you know whether the sources shifted.

What are the limits of each?
Brand Radar: the prompts are modelled on search keywords, so they may not match how your buyers phrase questions to an assistant; Claude coverage needs custom prompts; and the cost rises quickly if you want every platform. It provides data rather than drafted fixes.
Kovmere: a small basket for one market; no Copilot, AI Mode or Grok; it samples engine APIs rather than consumer apps; and it cannot look up a competitor's sources outside your questions. Neither tool can guarantee that changing or joining a source will earn a citation.
What do people ask about source-page analysis?
Which pages do AI answers cite most?
Across most categories, third-party pages such as reviews, lists, directories, forums and videos take a large share. Which ones matter for you depends on your questions, which is why checking your own questions matters.
Can Brand Radar track my own prompts?
Yes, through custom prompts tracked from monthly to daily. They are priced in checks and sold on their own, from $50 a month, or included in small numbers in Ahrefs Lite and higher plans, without buying a platform index.
Does Kovmere show competitors' cited pages?
For your questions, yes: every page cited in answers that name competitors is in the source list. It does not search a competitor's citations outside your questions.
Should I approach every page that is cited instead of mine?
No. Start with pages that are cited repeatedly across engines and runs, that accept contributions or corrections, and that a buyer would trust.
