Can Duda Help Agencies Manage Local AEO for SMB Clients?

Yes, for the website side of the work. Duda is a website platform built for agencies that build and manage sites for small businesses. It generates crawler-friendly robots.txt and llms.txt files automatically, adds local business schema, and can sync a site's business details with the client's Google Business Profile. It also sells an AI Visibility add-on, from $19 a month, that tracks how AI assistants mention each client, with sentiment, competitor comparison, one-click fixes and white-label monthly reports. The tracking is light, though. The entry tier covers 20 prompts on two engines, roughly once a month. Reviews, listings beyond Google and outreach still need other tools. For agencies already building on Duda, it is a practical way to start offering local AEO.

What does Duda offer for local AEO?

Area What Duda provides Where it stops
Crawler access robots.txt and llms.txt generated automatically for every site Does not control CDN or client-side blocking elsewhere
Structured data Local business schema from the site's business information Other schema types may need custom code
Business Profile Sync site business information with the client's Google Business Profile Does not manage reviews or other directories
Listings Uberall app integration for listings across many directories Separate Uberall subscription
AI tracking AI Visibility add-on: score, mentions, sentiment, competitors, sample answers, crawler visits Low prompt and run limits on lower tiers
Fixes Site-specific recommendations with one-click changes; off-site suggestions Off-site work is still done by the agency
Reporting Automated white-label monthly AI visibility reports; APIs Reports only what is tracked

How does the AI Visibility add-on work?

According to Duda, it measures how often AI assistants mention a client's brand, what they say, and how the client compares with competitors. It shows sample conversations for the prompts the client cares about, a sentiment score from 0 to 100, total mentions by platform, and crawler visits by AI provider. The AI Visibility Score is the share of tracked responses that mention the brand, as a percentage.

From the dashboard, Duda offers site-specific recommendations that can be applied in one click, generates local schema and syncs it with the client's Business Profile, and suggests off-site improvements. For selling, it offers audits of prospect sites, including sites not built on Duda. It also offers white-label monthly reports and APIs to pull the data into your own tools.

How much does it cost?

Duda's account plans, billed annually, are Basic at $19 a month, Team $29, Agency $52 and White Label $149, with custom plans for high volume. The Agency plan includes four sites; extra sites cost $17 a month on Team plans and above. The AI Visibility add-on is priced separately:

Tier Price per month Domains Unique prompts Answer engines Monthly AI responses
Starter $19 1 20 2 40
Growth $39 5 100 3 600
Professional $89 10 250 4 2,000
Scale $195 20 500 4 4,000

All tiers include competitor analysis, the AI Visibility Score, sentiment analysis and agentic optimisations. Duda offers a 14-day free trial.

Is that enough tracking?

The response allowances show how often each prompt is checked. Starter's 40 responses cover 20 prompts on two engines once a month. Growth's 600 responses cover 100 prompts on three engines twice a month, and the top tiers work out at about twice a month as well. For small local businesses, monthly or twice-monthly checks can be enough to spot trends, but single runs vary. On Starter's 40 responses a month, a mention rate of 30% is only accurate to about ±14 points, so a month-to-month change smaller than about 20 points is noise; for one client on Growth, with 20 prompts on three engines twice a month (120 responses), the threshold is about 12 points. Report trends over several months, not single-month moves. How often to track is covered in whether to track AI visibility weekly or monthly.

One claim to treat with care: Duda describes crawler visits as "a strong indicator" of how often a brand is recommended. Crawler visits show that AI providers can reach a site, which matters, but many visits are for model training and do not mean the brand is being recommended. Use them as an access check, not a visibility measure.

What does Duda handle well for SMB clients?

  • Technical defaults. Duda says it generates crawler-friendly robots.txt and llms.txt files automatically for every site. Agencies do not have to remember per-site settings.
  • Consistency between site and profile. Syncing business details with the Business Profile reduces the mismatched hours and addresses that confuse AI answers.
  • Local schema without code. Local business structured data is generated from the site's business information.
  • Scale. Everything is managed from one account across many client sites, with white-label reporting.
  • Selling. Prospect audits and data-backed reports help agencies justify content packages such as service and location pages.

What does it leave to the agency?

  • Reviews. AI answers lean heavily on review volume and content. Duda does not run review requests; the agency needs a review tool or process. Ask every customer for an honest review, without incentives or scripted wording.
  • Directories beyond Google. Yelp, Bing Places, Apple Business and sector directories feed ChatGPT, Copilot and Siri. Duda's Uberall app can help, at extra cost.
  • Content. The one-click fixes improve structure and metadata, but useful service and location pages still need writing.
  • Off-site work. Duda recommends off-site actions; someone still has to do them.
  • Deeper tracking. Agencies wanting weekly checks, more engines or source-level citation analysis may need a dedicated tracker.

Multi-client tracking approaches are covered in how agencies track AI visibility across multiple clients and locations, and a listings-focused alternative in the Vendasta review.

How should an agency package it?

  1. Audit prospects with Duda's external-site audit to show where they stand.
  2. Set up the basics for every client: business information, Business Profile sync, local schema.
  3. Track a small, fixed prompt set per client: the services and places customers actually ask about.
  4. Add review and listings work as part of the package, since they drive local AI answers.
  5. Report monthly with the white-label report, adding your own notes on what changed and why.

Pricing and pitching are covered in how freelancers can price GEO and AEO services and how a small agency can pitch and sell GEO services. What any builder needs to get right for AI crawlers is covered in which website builder is best for AEO.

What might this look like in practice?

Consider an illustrative agency, Ostreth Web, with 40 trades clients on Duda. It bought the Growth tier to track five pilot clients, 20 prompts each, across three engines. After two months, the reports showed a plumber mentioned in almost no ChatGPT answers, despite a strong site. The dashboard's off-site suggestions pointed to missing directory listings and few recent reviews. Ostreth added a review-request routine and Bing Places and Yelp listings to the client's package. Three months later, the plumber appeared in a third of tracked answers, and Ostreth rolled the package out to 15 more clients.
