Keyword.com Review: Tracking Google Rankings and AI Visibility Together
Keyword.com is a rank tracker that now tracks AI visibility too, sold as three self-serve lines plus a custom plan from $490 a month. With annual billing, Google-only tracking starts at $3 a month, AI-only at $7.83 and the combined 360° Visibility plan at $26, with 1,000 keywords and 15 AI credits. AI tracking covers nine engines, including ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude, with citations, sentiment and competitors. It is one of the cheapest ways to see Google rankings and AI mentions side by side, especially for agencies that need shareable client reports. AI credits go less far than the keyword allowance suggests: at 0.25 credits per prompt per update, 15 credits cover about 2 prompts tracked daily, or 14 weekly, on one engine.
What are the plans?
As listed on Keyword.com's pricing page, billed annually (annual billing saves about 20% against monthly):
| Plan | Entry price | What it includes | Scales to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search Visibility | $3/mo annually ($4 monthly), 50 keywords | Google rank tracking only | 500 keywords |
| AI Visibility | $7.83/mo annually ($9.80 monthly), 20 credits | AI visibility only: competitors, citations, sentiment, prompt research | 2,000 credits |
| 360° Visibility | $26/mo annually ($33 monthly), 1,000 keywords and 15 credits | Google rankings and AI visibility together | 10,000 keywords and 250 credits |
| Custom | From $490/mo | Tailored features and support | Unlimited keywords and credits |
All plans include unlimited domains and projects. Updates can be weekly or daily depending on package, and plans include a rank tracker API and an MCP server. Extra AI credits and a branded report domain are available as add-ons. The free trial runs 14 days with no card, and includes 100 keywords and 20 credits.
What does the AI tracking cover?
According to Keyword.com's AI visibility pages:
- ChatGPT: brand mentions, citations and contextual references in its answers.
- Google AI Mode: visibility against competitors, the citations shaping answers, and sentiment.
- Google AI Overviews: how often your site appears, and which URLs or products are featured.
- Perplexity: when and how it cites your site.
- Gemini: your visibility in its responses.
- Copilot, Claude, DeepSeek and Mistral: the other four engines, priced at higher credit rates for Claude, Mistral and DeepSeek.
- Competitor tracking, citation analysis and sentiment, including the key positive, neutral and negative words used about your brand.
- Prompt research, to find prompts worth monitoring.
How far do AI credits go?
This is the question to settle first. Keyword.com says credits are used to track prompts across AI engines. Keyword.com's credit calculator gives the rate: each prompt costs 0.25 credits per update on Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Copilot, 1 on DeepSeek, 2 on Mistral and 3 on Claude. Weekly tracking of one prompt on one 0.25-credit engine uses about 1 credit a month; daily tracking uses about 7.5. So 20 or 250 credits could mean very different amounts of tracking depending on engines and frequency. During the trial:
- Add five prompts on the engines you care about.
- Note the credit balance before and after the first update.
- Work out credits per prompt, per engine, per update.
- Project your monthly need for your real prompt count and frequency, and price the credit add-ons.
Only then compare Keyword.com with trackers priced by prompts per day.
Why track rankings and AI visibility together?
Because they diverge. Pages that rank well are not always cited, and AI answers cite pages that do not rank. BrightEdge's research found only about 17% of sources cited in AI Overviews also ranked in the organic top 10. Ahrefs found 38% of AI Overview citations came from top-10 pages. Seeing both side by side for the same keywords shows:
- Keywords where you rank but are not cited, which usually means the page does not answer the question clearly, or a competitor's page answers it better.
- Keywords where you are cited without ranking, which shows what AI values in your pages.
- Keywords where an AI Overview or AI Mode answer pushes organic results down, which explains falling clicks despite stable rankings.
How enterprise tools approach the same combination is covered in STAT vs Nozzle vs seoClarity vs BrightEdge.
How does it compare on price with other rank-plus-AI tools?
Entry plans that combine keyword rankings with AI visibility, as listed by each vendor:
| Tool and plan | Price | Keywords | AI tracking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keyword.com 360° Visibility | $26/mo annually | 1,000 | 15 credits |
| Moz Pro Standard | $99/mo | 300 | 150 prompts, weekly, 4 models |
| SE Ranking Core | $129/mo | 2,000 | 100 prompts, daily |
| Semrush One Starter | $199/mo | 500 | 50 prompts, daily |
Keyword.com is the cheapest plan in this table for rank tracking with some AI visibility attached. Whether it stays cheapest as AI tracking grows depends on what its credits buy, which is why measuring credit use matters. For heavy AI tracking, plans that state prompts per day are easier to budget.
What is it good for?
- Agencies: unlimited domains, shareable live reports through ViewKey, a branded report domain as an add-on, and an API and MCP server for custom reporting.
- Small businesses: a very low entry price for Google tracking with some AI visibility.
- SEO teams: one place to see rankings, AI Overviews and AI Mode for the same keywords.
How should you read the combined data?
Treat AI Overview and AI Mode presence as separate measures from rank. For each keyword group, report three numbers side by side: average organic position, the share of keywords where an AI feature appears, and the share where your site is cited in it. When rankings hold but clicks fall, check whether AI features started appearing on those keywords. When a page gains citations without a ranking change, look at what changed on the page, since that shows what AI systems reward.
What are the limits?
- Credit budgeting: credits are priced per prompt per update (0.25 on most engines, up to 3 on Claude), so the monthly cost depends heavily on engines and frequency; work it out before choosing a package.
- Engine range: nine engines, at different prices. Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot cost 0.25 credits per prompt update; DeepSeek 1, Mistral 2 and Claude 3, so tracking Claude uses credits twelve times as fast.
- Depth: it is a rank tracker first. Tools built around AI visibility often offer deeper source gap analysis and recommendations.
- Frequency: weekly updates on lower packages give fewer data points.
Other trackers with rankings and AI together are covered in the SE Ranking AI visibility tracker review and the Rankscale review. Local precision is discussed in whether AI visibility trackers are precise enough for local geotargeting.
What might an agency set-up look like?
Consider an illustrative local SEO agency with 25 small clients. It moved rank tracking to Keyword.com's 360° plan with 2,000 keywords and 30 credits. It used the keyword allowance for every client's core terms, and spent AI credits on five high-value prompts for each of its six largest clients. Each client received a live ViewKey report showing rankings, AI Overview appearances and, for the six, AI mentions and citations. After a month, the agency measured how many credits the AI prompts actually used, and bought an add-on to extend AI tracking to four more clients.
How should you trial it?
- Load 50 keywords and five prompts for one real site.
- Choose daily updates if available on the trial, to see movement quickly.
- Measure credit use as above.
- Compare AI results with your own manual checks in ChatGPT and Google for three prompts.
- Share a ViewKey report with a colleague or client to test the reporting.
