Peec AI Review: Tracking AI Brand Mentions, Citations, and Rankings

Peec AI is a mid-market AI visibility tracker with clearly defined metrics. It reports visibility, share of voice, sentiment and position, plus the sources each answer cites. Plans cost $95, $245 and $495 a month for 50, 150 and 350 prompts, with unlimited users. Each plan runs three AI models daily, chosen from a set that includes ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot. It has moved beyond pure monitoring, adding source gap analysis and ranked actions. It still does not write content, though it now connects to Google Analytics and server logs to show AI referrals and crawler activity. It suits teams that want dependable measurement and source analysis, and will do the optimisation work themselves.

What does Peec measure?

Peec defines four core metrics, in its own documentation:

  • Visibility: the percentage of AI responses in which your brand appears.
  • Share of voice: your brand's mentions as a percentage of all mentions of tracked brands.
  • Sentiment: how positively answers describe your brand, scored from 0 to 100.
  • Position: your average ranking among the brands named when you appear, where 1 means named first.

Visibility and share of voice answer different questions. Suppose you appear in 4 of 10 responses, and your competitors are mentioned 12 times in total across them. Your visibility is 40%, but your share of voice is 4 ÷ 16 = 25%. Report both, since a brand can appear often while competitors dominate the answers.

Peec also records the sources and citations behind each answer, so you can see which URLs and domains each engine drew on. It tracks ChatGPT through simulation of the consumer interface rather than only through an API, which matters because API and app answers can differ.

How much does Peec AI cost per month, and what does each plan include?

As listed on Peec's pricing page, in US dollars:

Starter Pro Advanced Enterprise
Price $95/mo $245/mo $495/mo Custom, annual
Prompts 50 150 350 Custom
Active models 3 3 3 Up to 13
Answers a month (prompts × 3 × 30) 4,500 13,500 31,500 Custom
Projects 1 2 5 Unlimited
Users Unlimited Unlimited Unlimited Unlimited
Extras Daily tracking Daily tracking Multi-country, Looker Studio API, SSO, custom prompt setup, daily or weekly frequency

Visitors from Europe see euro prices. Per answer, that is about 2.1 cents on Starter, 1.8 cents on Pro and 1.6 cents on Advanced.

Six engines are available on every plan, but each self-serve plan runs three at a time. Activating more costs extra. One competitor's review put the price at $35 a month per extra model on Starter, rising on higher plans. Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral and others are paid upgrades unlocked on higher tiers. So a team that needs five engines should price the add-ons before comparing Peec with tools that include more engines by default.

Peec AI review: does its monitoring provide actionable optimization steps?

More than it used to, though it stops short of doing the work. Peec now includes:

  • Gap analysis: sources that often appear and name competitors but not you, broken down to the URL.
  • Recommended actions, ranked and split into earned, off-site work and owned, on-site work.
  • Agent actions generated from your data with pre-built and custom skills.
  • A visibility lift predictor and analysis of which changes moved visibility.
  • A crawlability audit of your robots.txt rules for more than 40 AI bots.
  • Prompt suggestions drawn from your brand context and coverage gaps.

What it does not do is write or publish content, fix your site or run outreach. Peec describes itself as the analytics layer that measures visibility and surfaces the sources and content most likely to move it. Teams without writers, developers or PR capacity will get a clear list of what to do, and still need people to do it.

What are its weaknesses?

  • Three active models per plan. Broad coverage costs extra.
  • Traffic data needs setup. Peec's AI referrals view reads AI-assistant sessions and conversions from your Google Analytics 4 property, and Crawl insights reads AI bot visits from your CDN or server logs, on every plan; connect both before judging results, and remember that GA4 files AI Overviews and AI Mode clicks under organic search.
  • One daily run per prompt per model. That is fine for trends, but day-to-day movements are often noise.
  • Sentiment scores are model judgements. Check a sample of answers before reporting sentiment to leadership.
  • No content tools. Teams that want drafting in the same product will look at content-led platforms instead.

How does Peec compare on price per answer?

Peec sits in the middle of the market. At roughly 1.6 to 2.1 cents per answer, it costs about the same as Otterly's Standard plan and PromptWatch's plans, both around 1.4 to 1.6 cents. It is a little dearer than AIclicks' Pro plan at about 1 cent, and far below enterprise contracts. The differences that matter more are which engines are included without add-ons, whether answers come from consumer apps or APIs, and whether you will use the source analysis. If gap analysis and ranked actions save your team a few hours a month, a small premium per answer pays for itself.

Who is Peec for?

  • Good fit: in-house SEO and content teams, and agencies, that want reliable daily measurement with source analysis and will act on it themselves.
  • Good fit on Advanced: brands tracking several countries, or several products as separate projects.
  • Poor fit: teams that want content written for them, need many engines at entry prices, or track fewer than a dozen prompts, where cheaper tools suffice.

Comparisons with specific rivals are in Peec AI vs Otterly, Profound vs Peec vs Otterly and, for online stores, Peec AI vs Goodie for ecommerce product citation coverage.

How should you set up Peec for useful data?

  1. Choose your three models by where your customers ask, typically ChatGPT, AI Overviews and one of Perplexity, AI Mode or Gemini.
  2. Import prompts from real questions, and use Peec's classification to label each as branded or non-branded, and by intent.
  3. Add the competitors you actually lose deals to, plus any Peec suggests that you had not considered.
  4. Review gap analysis weekly for the top sources that name competitors but not you.
  5. Pick two actions a month, one earned and one owned, and note the date you complete each.
  6. Judge results over four to eight weeks on visibility and share of voice for the affected prompts.

What might an illustrative result look like?

Consider an illustrative project management software company tracking 50 prompts on ChatGPT, AI Overviews and Perplexity. After a month, its visibility was 22% and its share of voice 9%, because three competitors were named in almost every answer. Gap analysis showed that two comparison articles and one review site appeared in most answers and did not mention the company. It pitched an updated comparison to one publisher, completed its profile on the review site, and rewrote its own comparison page with a clear pricing table. Two months later, visibility on the affected prompts had risen to 35% and share of voice to 14%.
