Profound Pricing: How Much Does Each Plan Cost?

Since mid-September 2026, Profound has no self-serve plan for brands. Brands get a free seven-day trial, then a custom Enterprise contract. Agencies can still self-serve on Agency Growth, at $99 a month plus $399 for each client workspace, with 400 agent credits a month per workspace. Before the change, brands could buy Starter at $99 a month and Growth at $399. That is why older articles, and even some of Profound's own help pages, still quote those prices. Profound's AI Marketer agents run on credits, and the number each task uses depends on its complexity. Budget with the current price list, and ask for any Enterprise quote in writing, with engines, prompts and credits spelled out.

What does each plan cost now?

As listed on Profound's pricing page and in an independent pricing tracker:

Plan Who it is for Price What it includes
Trial Brands trying Profound Free, 7 days 50 recommended prompts analysed daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews; limited AI Marketer credits; prompts cannot be customised
Enterprise Brands Custom Ongoing daily tracking, up to nine answer engines, editable prompts, tailored AI Marketer credits, dedicated support, unlimited seats
Agency Growth Agencies $99/mo base + $399/mo per client workspace 400 agent credits a month per client workspace; self-serve
Agency Enterprise Larger agencies Custom Higher limits, API access and SSO

The independent tracker also lists extra trial workspaces for agencies at $199 per pack of five a month. Profound publishes no minimum Enterprise price.

What did Profound cost before September 2026?

Until mid-September 2026, around its $180 million Series D, Profound sold two self-serve brand plans: Starter at $99 a month and Growth at $399 a month. Its help centre describes Starter as including 100 agent credits a month and Growth 400. Those plans have been removed for new brand customers. Existing subscribers should check their terms directly with Profound.

How do Profound's credits work?

According to Profound's help centre:

  • Agent runs consume credits according to workflow complexity. Simple agents with few steps use fewer credits, and multi-step agents use more.
  • Mentioning an agent in a chat with the AI Marketer counts as an agent run.
  • Sheets consume credits when they run agents across rows.
  • Agent runs triggered through Profound's MCP tools consume credits.
  • Pulling data through the API does not consume credits by itself.
  • Higher credit allowances require an Enterprise package.

In practice, tracking and agent work are priced differently. Tracking is set by your package's prompts and engines. Drafting pages, briefs and campaigns draws on credits. If you expect heavy use of the AI Marketer, ask how many credits typical tasks use, and what happens when you run out.

Why is Profound pricing hard to find and understand?

  • The plans changed recently. Removing the self-serve brand plans in September 2026 left many comparison articles out of date overnight.
  • Documentation lags. Profound's own credits article still referred to the Starter and Growth plans after they were withdrawn for brands.
  • Several units at once. Prompts, engines, workspaces and agent credits are counted separately.
  • Brand and agency pricing differ, on separate tabs.
  • Enterprise is quoted, with no published minimum.
  • Credit use varies by task, so the cost of a draft is not fixed.

None of this is unusual for enterprise software. It does mean you cannot compare Profound on a pricing page the way you can compare self-serve trackers. Hidden pricing has a cost for vendors too, a point covered in why "contact us for pricing" is a dead end for AI agents.

How can you estimate an Enterprise quote?

Work out your volume, then use self-serve prices as a sanity check:

  1. Count brands and markets. Each brand in each country or language is effectively a separate project.
  2. Count prompts per project that would change a decision.
  3. Choose engines your customers use.
  4. Multiply: brands × markets × prompts × engines × 30 runs gives answers a month.
  5. Apply a self-serve rate of roughly one to two cents per answer, which is where mid-market trackers sit.
  6. Add agent credits and services such as onboarding, support and strategy.

For example, 3 brands in 2 markets, with 150 prompts each on 6 engines, is 3 × 2 × 150 × 6 × 30 = 162,000 answers a month. At one to two cents each, that is $1,620 to $3,240 a month for collection alone, before agents and services. The figure is not a Profound quote. It tells you roughly what order of magnitude to expect, and whether a quote is out of line.

How much do enterprise AI visibility platforms like Profound and Bear AI cost?

Most of them publish self-serve entry prices and quote their enterprise tiers:

Platform Published entry price Enterprise
Profound Free trial for brands; agencies $99 + $399 per workspace Custom
Bear AI Basic $100/mo: GPT-5 tracking, 30 prompts, 2 blog drafts a month Custom: GPT-5, Google AI, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity; unlimited prompts; PR and lead generation
AthenaHQ Free Essential tier; Starter $295/mo Custom
Brandlight None published Custom
Writesonic $79 to $399/mo billed annually Custom, all 10 platforms

So "hundreds or thousands a month" is a fair summary. Self-serve plans run from tens to a few hundred dollars. Enterprise contracts depend on volume and services, and can easily reach thousands a month for multi-brand, multi-market coverage. Price comparisons across more tools are in GEO tool pricing: Otterly, Minddex and Profound compared.

What does an agency pay as it grows?

Agency Growth pricing is simple to model, because each client adds the same amount:

Clients Monthly cost Agent credits a month
1 $99 + $399 = $498 400
5 $99 + 5 × $399 = $2,094 2,000
10 $99 + 10 × $399 = $4,089 4,000

An agency rebilling $750 a month per client for AI visibility reporting would keep about $351 per client, before the $99 base fee and staff time. So Agency Growth suits agencies that charge well above the per-workspace fee, or that use the agents to cut delivery time. Past about ten clients, it is worth asking whether Agency Enterprise pricing works out cheaper.

What should you negotiate?

  • A paid pilot on one brand and market before a full contract.
  • The engine list, in writing, including whether Claude and Perplexity are covered.
  • Prompt editing rights and the number of prompts per project.
  • Credit allowances for the AI Marketer, with the price of extra credits.
  • Data export, including raw answers and cited URLs, and API access.
  • Term and price protection, such as a cap on renewal increases.

Is Profound worth its price?

For large brands and agencies that will use its coverage, demand data and agents, it can be. For a single small brand, the trial is useful and the Enterprise price is usually not justified, since self-serve trackers cost far less. A fuller assessment is in the Profound review. How another vendor structures its published plans is covered in PromptWatch pricing.
