Ubersuggest AI Search Visibility Review: How Useful Is Its Data?
Ubersuggest's AI Search Visibility shows whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention your brand for a small set of prompts. It charts how you compare with competitors over time, and the tone of the answers. It is cheap and easy to use, but the data is thin: 10 to 20 prompts per brand, updated monthly, fortnightly or weekly depending on plan, with one to three responses per prompt, collected by simulating prompts. That is enough for a directional snapshot and a source of ideas. It is not enough for precise measurement of change. The data looks good at first glance because it is clearly presented; how useful it is depends on how much you ask of it.
What does it show?
Based on Ubersuggest's product page, help centre and pricing page:
- Brand visibility for a set of prompts per brand, each project counting as one brand.
- A line chart of your visibility against competitors over time.
- AI model insights across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews.
- Sentiment: whether answers describe you positively, neutrally or negatively, charted over time.
- Citation sources: Ubersuggest says it tracks the sources AI answers cite and lets you export them with URLs, domain authority and a context snippet.
- Prompt ideas within keyword research, 25 to 75 per search depending on plan, alongside Google AI Overview data for keywords.
Ubersuggest describes its method as AI that simulates user prompts, which suggests answers are generated through the models rather than captured from each consumer app. Ask how it collects answers for each engine, because app and developer-API answers can differ.
How much data sits behind the numbers?
| Plan | Price | Prompts per brand | Updates | Responses per prompt each update | Answers per brand per month, across 3 engines |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | $29/mo | 10 | Monthly | 1 | About 30 |
| Business | $49/mo | 15 | Every two weeks | 1 | About 90 |
| Enterprise | $99/mo | 20 | Weekly | 3 | About 720 |
The free plan and Individual plan are capped at 10 prompts per brand.
How reliable is data from so few answers?
The smaller the sample, the more a single answer moves the result. On the Individual plan, each engine gets ten answers a month, one per prompt. A visibility score based on ten answers can only move in steps of 10 percentage points, and one prompt flipping between mentioned and not mentioned changes it by that much. AI answers vary from run to run, so a move from 30% to 50% in a month may be noise rather than progress.
The Enterprise plan is a different proposition. Three responses per prompt, weekly, give about 720 answers per brand a month across the three engines, enough for trends to mean something over a quarter. If you rely on Ubersuggest for anything more than a snapshot, that is the plan to consider, or combine a smaller plan with your own manual checks.
Where is the data genuinely useful?
- A first look. For a small business that has never checked AI answers, seeing whether ChatGPT and Gemini name you, and who they name instead, is valuable.
- Competitor context. The comparison chart shows at a glance whether rivals appear more often, which helps prioritise.
- Sentiment flags. A negative tone on a prompt is worth reading in full, whatever the sample size.
- Prompt ideas. The AI prompt ideas in keyword research are a quick way to build a list of questions to test, in Ubersuggest or elsewhere.
- AI Overview context for keywords, alongside ordinary keyword data.
Where does it fall short?
- Sample size on the lower plans, as above.
- Engines: no Perplexity, Claude, Copilot or AI Mode.
- Sources: the citation export lists pages, but check whether it shows which engine and prompt cited each one before using it to plan fixes.
- Collection method: simulated prompts may not match what logged-in users see in the apps.
How can you get more value from it?
- Choose prompts carefully. With only 10 to 20 per brand, use real buyer questions, weighted towards non-branded ones.
- Keep prompts stable for at least three months, so trends are comparable.
- Read the answers, not just the score, especially for negative or missing results.
- Verify key prompts manually, three runs each in ChatGPT and Gemini, before acting on a change.
- Report quarterly trends, not monthly swings, on the lower plans.
What should you check in the first month?
- Prompt fit: are the prompts real buyer questions, or generic ones the tool suggested? Replace any that your customers would never ask.
- Brand detection: does it recognise your brand name, abbreviations and product names in answers? Missed variants make visibility look worse than it is.
- Competitor set: are the right rivals being compared? A missing competitor distorts the comparison chart.
- Answer text: open several answers marked as mentioned and not mentioned, and confirm the label is right.
- Sentiment: read the answers behind any negative label before reporting it.
How should you report its numbers?
On the lower plans, report ranges and directions rather than precise percentages: "mentioned in about a third of ChatGPT answers, up slightly over the quarter" is more honest than "33%, up from 30%". Show the competitor comparison, since relative position is steadier than absolute scores. On Enterprise, weekly data with three responses per prompt supports monthly percentages, but still compare against a three-month average.
How does it compare with alternatives?
For a similar budget, Amplitude's AI Visibility report is free for ChatGPT and AI Overviews, and Otterly tracks 15 prompts daily on four engines for $29 a month. Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit costs more, $99 a month per domain, but tracks 25 prompts daily with research data. The cost per answer across these is compared in Ubersuggest vs Semrush for AI visibility tracking. Other tools with competitor insights are covered in the Am I on AI review.
Who is it for?
- Good fit: existing Ubersuggest users and small businesses wanting a low-cost first look, and freelancers covering several small clients on Enterprise.
- Reasonable fit: content teams using its prompt ideas to plan pages.
- Poor fit: anyone who needs to prove changes month to month, or track Perplexity and other engines.
What might this look like in practice?
Consider an illustrative bakery chain, Yarrcombe Bakery, on Ubersuggest's Individual plan. Its first report showed it mentioned in 3 of 10 ChatGPT answers and 5 of 10 Gemini answers, with two local rivals ahead. The next month, ChatGPT showed 5 of 10. Rather than celebrate, the owner ran the ten prompts three times each by hand and found ChatGPT naming the bakery in roughly a third of answers, much as before. She used the tool for its competitor view and prompt ideas, and judged progress on quarterly averages. When she later took on two more bakery locations as separate brands, she moved to the Business plan, which covered all three brands for less than tracking them separately elsewhere.
What do people ask about Ubersuggest's AI Search Visibility?

How many prompts can I track?
10 per brand on Free and Individual, 15 on Business and 20 on Enterprise.
How often does it update?
The Individual plan refreshes once a month, Business every other week, and Enterprise every week.
Is its data accurate?
It is a real sample of AI answers, but on the lower plans the sample is small, so treat month-to-month changes as directional.
