Brand24 AI Brand Assistant Review: Monitoring Visibility Drops and Prompt-Level Share of Voice

Brand24's AI Brand Assistant is a chat analyst for your social listening data. It explains spikes in mentions, compares you with competitors and drafts reports. It does not track AI answers itself. That job belongs to a separate AI Visibility module, powered by Brand24's sister product Chatbeat. The module runs prompts in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and other models, and reports a Brand Score, median position and share of voice for each prompt. Used together, the two can flag a drop in AI visibility and help explain it, for example by linking it to a wave of negative reviews. The module is an add-on on most Brand24 plans, and Chatbeat alone starts at $99 a month.

Does Brand24 track brand mentions in LLMs?

Yes, through its AI Visibility module. Brand24 says it reports visibility data from ChatGPT, ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Perplexity Search, Gemini, Claude and DeepSeek. The underlying Chatbeat platform adds Grok, Copilot, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews. For each tracked prompt it shows whether your brand is included, where it ranks and which sources the answer draws on. Across prompts it reports:

  • Brand Score: a 0–100% measure of how often and how high you appear, where 100% means first place in every tracked prompt.
  • Median position: where you usually sit when an answer lists several brands.
  • Share of voice: by competitor and by AI model.
  • Key sources: the pages that shape answers, including outdated ones.

The module is an add-on on Brand24's Individual to Business plans and included on Enterprise. Chatbeat can also be bought on its own: Essential at $99 a month for 30 prompts refreshed daily, Advanced at $299 for 100 prompts and Business at $599 for 300. Brand24 is also covered, beside a rival listening tool, in Brand24 vs Mention.

What does the AI Brand Assistant do?

The Assistant answers questions about your Brand24 projects in plain language, with charts where useful. Brand24's help centre gives examples: summarising what happened last month for a board report, explaining what caused a spike on a given day, comparing this quarter with the same quarter last year, and benchmarking against a competitor's project. An April 2026 update added inline charts, better precision and live web search, so it can also look at a competitor's website during an analysis. It is available in its own tab, as a widget in other views, and as a "summarise with AI" button on filtered mention lists.

Its data is your listening data: social posts, news, blogs, forums, reviews and podcasts. That matters for AI visibility because those sources are part of what AI models read. The Assistant can tell you, for instance, that negative reviews surged in the same week your AI visibility slipped.

How is prompt-level share of voice calculated?

Chatbeat's share of voice is weighted by position. For each prompt, the brands in an answer split 100% between them, with higher positions earning more: Brand24's help centre gives roughly 40% for first place, with less for each place below. So if an answer names you first and two rivals after you, you take the largest share for that prompt, even though all three were mentioned.

Two things follow. First, share of voice rewards being recommended first, not just being present, which suits buying-stage prompts. Second, it is relative: your share can fall because a new competitor appears, even if your own position holds. Read share of voice next to Brand Score and median position to see which changed. Why branded prompts can inflate these numbers is covered in whether brand-name prompts inflate AI visibility scores.

How does it flag visibility drops?

The AI Visibility module charts Brand Score and average position over time and shows weekly ranking changes, so a sudden fall stands out. Brand24's listening side separately detects unusual spikes in mentions and explains them. A practical routine:

  1. Check the Brand Score chart weekly for drops larger than normal week-to-week movement.
  2. Open the prompts that changed and read the answers. Did you drop out, move down, or did a new rival appear?
  3. Check the key sources for those prompts. Has a new or outdated page started shaping answers?
  4. Ask the Assistant what happened in your listening data that week, such as a news story or review surge.
  5. Confirm before reacting: if the drop appears in one model only, or reverses the next week, it may be normal variation.

Brand24's pages describe weekly ranking changes for the visibility charts, while Chatbeat refreshes prompts daily; confirm which view your plan shows.

How do you tell a real drop from noise?

AI answers vary from run to run, so single-week drops are often noise. Treat a drop as real when it:

  • Appears across several prompts in the same topic, not just one.
  • Appears in more than one model, or persists in the main model your buyers use.
  • Lasts two or more checks.
  • Coincides with a cause, such as a competitor launch, a critical article or a change to your own pages.

Median position is steadier than average position, because one very low placement does not pull it down as much.

Where does it fall short?

  • Two products, two bills. The Assistant is included only on Brand24's Pro, Business and Enterprise listening plans, not on Individual or Team, and AI visibility is an add-on or a separate Chatbeat subscription.
  • Model coverage splits between what Brand24 shows and what Chatbeat adds.
  • Position weighting can hide how often you are mentioned lower down.
  • We have not confirmed whether the Assistant can query AI Visibility module data directly; test this in a trial.

We have not tested Brand24 ourselves; this review is based on Brand24's published pages and help centre.

Who is it for?

  • Good fit: PR and brand teams already on Brand24's Pro plan or above, who want AI visibility beside their listening data and quick explanations of spikes.
  • Reasonable fit: teams that buy Chatbeat alone for daily AI tracking at $99 a month.
  • Poor fit: SEO teams needing page-level citation data and links to site traffic.

Other trackers are compared in the Rankscale review and Waikay vs Otterly vs Knowatoa.

What might this look like in practice?

Consider an illustrative running shoe brand, Tamberlo. Its Brand Score fell from 38% to 24% in one week. The prompts that dropped were all about shoes for flat feet, and the key sources had changed to a podiatry blog that had just published a critical comparison. Asked what happened that week, the AI Brand Assistant pointed to a surge of social posts sharing the article. Tamberlo sent the blog updated fit data, and published a flat-feet fitting guide on its own site. The score recovered over the next month.
