Promptwatch Pricing: What Do Its Plans Cost for Sites and Tracked Prompts?

Promptwatch's brand plans cost $95, $245 and $579 a month, billed monthly. They cover 1, 2 and 5 projects, where a project is one brand or site, and 50, 150 and 350 prompts. Each prompt is tracked daily on four AI models you choose. That works out at about $1.65 to $1.90 per prompt, and 1.4 to 1.6 cents per AI answer. Agent credits, AI article drafts and crawler log capacity scale with the plan. Agencies get a separate tier with unlimited client projects and white-label reporting. Against AthenaHQ, whose paid plan starts at $295 a month for 3,600 answers, Promptwatch is far cheaper per answer. Choose the plan by counting sites and prompts first.

What does each plan cost?

As listed on Promptwatch's pricing page, billed monthly (annual billing is also offered):

The four models are chosen from a list that includes ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Claude, Gemini, Meta's Llama, DeepSeek and Grok. Each plan sets a sitemap page limit, and Professional and Business also set a crawler log limit, which matters if you connect Agent Analytics on a large site.

What does a site or a prompt cost?

Plan Per project per month Per prompt per month Per AI answer
Essential $95 $1.90 About 1.6 cents
Professional $122.50 $1.63 About 1.4 cents
Business $115.80 $1.65 About 1.4 cents

Two points follow. First, Professional and Business cost about the same per prompt, so choose between them by projects and features, not by prompt price. Second, if you manage several brands, the number of projects often decides the plan before the number of prompts does. Five brands need Business even if each has only 30 prompts. Ask Promptwatch how prompts are allocated across projects, so a busy brand does not crowd out the others.

What do agencies pay?

Promptwatch runs a separate agency tier, sold through its agency pages and demos. According to its agency materials, agency tiers support unlimited client projects under one account, with a white-label dashboard, a client portal, Data Studio reporting, and API and MCP access. Its documentation suggests running one project per client, plus short-lived "pitch projects" to audit prospects. Ask for pricing based on your client count and prompts per client. Compare it with running each client on a brand plan, which quickly becomes expensive at $95 or more per project.

How much does Promptwatch cost, and how does it compare with AthenaHQ?

AthenaHQ prices by credits, where one credit is one AI response. Its Essential tier is free with 300 credits. Its Starter plan costs $295 a month for 3,600 credits, and Enterprise is custom.

Compare the same job: 50 prompts on 4 models, daily, which is 6,000 answers a month.

  • Promptwatch Essential: $95 a month, about 1.6 cents per answer.
  • AthenaHQ Starter: 3,600 credits cover only 60% of the job. You would need extra credits, an Enterprise package, or fewer engines. For 50 prompts on 2 engines, 3,000 answers, Starter fits at $295, about 9.8 cents per answer used.

On price per answer, Promptwatch is several times cheaper. AthenaHQ's case rests on other things. It tracks a broader set of engines, links GA4 and Search Console, offers claim review and discrepancy detection on Enterprise, and provides its own citation engine. Promptwatch's extras are crawler logs, agent credits and article drafts. A closer look at both tools' analysis features is in Promptwatch vs AthenaHQ for AI prompt behaviour analysis.

What costs are easy to miss?

  • Team seats. Seat allowances are set per plan, so check how many colleagues and clients need logins before choosing.
  • Extra projects. A new brand or site can push you up a tier even if your prompt count is low.
  • Model slots. Each plan tracks four models. Adding a fifth, such as Claude alongside ChatGPT, Google and Perplexity, may mean giving one up or asking for a custom plan.
  • Agent credits. Chat, gap analysis and drafting draw on the same monthly allowance. Heavy use of drafting can exhaust it before month end.
  • Business is sold by demo, so its terms may differ from the listed price, in either direction.
  • Annual commitments. Lock in only after a month or two of real use shows the right plan.

How do you choose the right plan?

  1. Count projects. One brand or site per project.
  2. Count prompts per project that would change a decision. Most small brands need 30 to 60.
  3. Pick your four models from where your buyers ask.
  4. Decide whether you need drafts. Essential includes no article drafts; Professional includes five a month.
  5. Check location needs. If you need state or city tracking, ask Promptwatch which plan includes it.
  6. Check crawler data limits if you plan to connect Agent Analytics on a large site.

How to organise prompts by buying stage before you count them is covered in how to bucket AI tracking prompts by commercial intent and buying stage. The product itself is covered in the Promptwatch review.

How does Promptwatch compare with other tools on price?

At entry level, Promptwatch sits in the mid-market: dearer than Otterly's $29 plan with 15 prompts and Rankscale's Essentials ($17 a month, billed yearly), level with Peec AI's $95 plan with 50 prompts on three models, and far cheaper per answer than AthenaHQ's $295 Starter. Its four models at entry make it good value for a single brand with around 50 questions; crawler analytics (Agent Analytics) starts on Professional at $245. A tool with a $59 entry plan, a free trial and cross-platform tracking is covered in the Knowatoa review. A comparison focused on markets and questions is in Promptwatch vs Goodie.

What might a plan decision look like?

Consider an illustrative furniture company with two brands, one premium and one budget, each with about 60 buying questions. Essential allowed one project and 50 prompts, so it did not fit. Professional's two projects and 150 prompts covered both brands with room for 30 more questions, at $245 a month, or about 1.4 cents per answer. The company chose ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini as its four models, and used the five monthly article drafts for buying guides. When it later launched a third brand, it compared Business at $579 with a second Professional account at $245, which had fewer features but was cheaper.
